Michael Faccinto Picks Up a Pair of Podiums at Dave Bradway Jr Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA- One of the sentimental favorites to win the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial is undoubtedly the F&F Racing team, and over the past weekend Michael Faccinto came oh-so-close to that storybook ending for the team on two occasions as he finished third on Friday night with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, and second on Saturday night with the King of the West/NARC Series.

“It was an incredible weekend for this team, and having the Bradway family around, telling stories and making memories is what it’s all about,” Michael Faccinto said. “The only thing that could have made it a better weekend is picking up one of the wins, but we were right there both nights against some really stout competition.”

Friday night opened the weekend up as Faccinto and company checked in at Placerville Speedway for the opening night of the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial.

Timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Precision Civil Engineering backed No. x1 in fastest in his qualifying group, Faccinto’s third place run in heat race competition locked him into the High Sierra Industries Dash.

Finishing fifth in the Dash after taking the green from fourth, Faccinto was set for the 35-lap feature event on a very slick Placerville Speedway surface.

When the race came to life, the Hanford, CA driver battled in the top-five as much of the race clicked off caution free and he raced with the likes of Corey Day, Dominic Scelzi and Andy Forsberg.

Getting into fourth on the 20th lap when Justin Sanders had issues ahead of him, Faccinto then began battling with Andy Forsberg as the fought over the final position on the podium.

Securing the position on the 26th lap, Faccinto held strong over the final nine laps and closed night one out on the podium.

Bolting the 410ci power plant in on Saturday night, Faccinto made an early statement as he earned Carwash Mike Fast Time Honors with the KWS/NARC Series to get the finale underway.

Finishing fifth in his heat race, Faccinto locked into the feature event, as well as the Dash, where a sixth-place finish lined him up in the third row to start the 40-lap feature event.

Following pre-race track prep, Faccinto was set to battle with the NARC/KWS Series for 40-laps in one of the series’ biggest events of the year.

Working his way into fourth at the start of the race, Faccinto worked around the slick surface to perfection and moved into third on the sixth lap.

In third, Faccinto held the status quo as he searched around the ¼ mile bullring chasing after the lead duo of Colby Copeland and Justin Sanders.

Continuing to run in third when the caution flew on the 20th lap, Faccinto advanced to second when Justin Sanders pulled into the infield with mechanical issues.

With a ton of laps left, Faccinto now had his full attention on Colby Copeland who did set a strong pace in open track.

The last 10 laps of the race however were completed in traffic, and it allowed Faccinto to close in and flirt with the aforementioned storybook ending.

While he was able to get to Copeland’s back bumper, that was as close as he got as he capped off a very strong weekend with a second-place finish.

“Alan and Tooch and their family put a ton into this event, and I know how much it means to them and their family and it means a lot to run so well for them,” Faccinto added. “I wish I could have gotten them a win but to go get two podiums is pretty special. Racing wise, we have been putting in so much work, and these two big runs will go a long way for us moving forward.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Precision Civil Engineering, Roseville Precision, Lucas Oil, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Sacramento Battery Company, PitStopUSA, FVP, CRV Carbon Solutions, American River Overhead Door, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Michael Faccinto are set for more SCCT action this Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway.
