Mitchel Moles Fourth in Debut with Roth Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Friday night in Tulare, CA Mitchel Moles got the call to pilot the famed Roth Motorsports NO. 83jr machine at Thunderbowl Raceway. Amidst a very strong showing for the team, Moles would cap his night off with a fourth-place finish in the feature event.

“First off I really want to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth, as well as the entire Roth Motorsports team for having me in their car on Friday night,” Moles said. “I had a blast working with Brent, Jeff, and Todd and they did a really good job of getting me comfortable in a hurry.”

On very slick conditions early in the night, Moles would get off to a nice start aboard the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co. backed entry as he timed in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up third in his heat race, the freshly groomed surface now had a ton of moisture in it which created lightning-fast speeds. Able to finish third, Moles would garner enough points to move into the Dash where he would take the green flag form the sixth starting position.

Getting up on the Thunderbowl Speedway cushion, Moles would get off to a very strong start in the Dash as he passed a couple of cars to get into the fourth position. Able to finish fourth, Moles would take the green flag from the outside of the second row for the 30-lap KWS feature event.

Continuing to confer with his Roth Motorsports crew as the night moved along, Moles would set out for the feature event with a similar game plan as he had in the Dash.

When the green flag was displayed, Moles would get squeezed into the wall on the exit of turn two, and it would see him lose all of his momentum as he fell back to 10th.

After a stoppage, Moles would restart from 10th, and this time he was able to get off to a better start as he got into seventh and started clicking off strong laps against the famed Thunderbowl wall.

Getting into fifth, another restart would see Moles grab another position as he was able to get back up to fourth where he would go on to finish.

“I am really happy with how our night went with it being my first night in their car, and not really having a ton of laps in a 410ci car,” Moles said. “I am a little mad at myself for putting myself in that position on the opening lap, but we had a really good car and I was able to make up the lost ground. It has always been a dream of mine to run for Roth Motorsports, so again I really want to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth, and the entire team for a great opportunity.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Jason, Tara, And Cole Roth Cattle Co., Roth Investments, FK Rod Ends, Vahlco Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Smith Titanium for their support in 2021.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-12, Wins-0, Top 5’s-5, Top-10’s-5
