Mitchell Faccinto Sixth in Debut with Tarlton Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the nod to take over driving duties for the famed Tarlton Motorsports team in 2022 which meant a reunion with Crew Chief Drew Warner, Mitchell Faccinto was able to make a long-awaited debut with the team on Saturday night in Hanford, CA and came away with a sixth-place finish.

“Our night started out great by timing in third fastest,” Mitchell Faccinto said. “Not winning the heat took us out of the Dash and put us in the third row of the feature. I made a bit of a bad judgement call on what I thought the track would do and it really made us too tight which was tough on the hooked-up surface.”

Taking part in the Dave Helm Memorial, Faccinto kicked the night off by timing the Tarlton and Son Inc./EZ Haul/Executive Auto Sales No. 21 machine in third fastest in qualifying time trials.

On an extremely hooked up and fast racing surface, the Hanford, CA driver would run second in his heat race to Justin Sanders, which placed him in the fifth starting position for the 30-lap feature event.

With the track still fast and narrow when the green flag dropped, Faccinto would slip back to seventh as his car was on the tight side when the race came to life.

Patiently letting the laps click off, Faccinto would make a move to get into sixth just past the race’s halfway point.

Battling with some stiff competition in Dominic Scelzi, Austin McCarl and Justin Sanders, Faccinto would fight hard for a spot inside the Top-Five.

With passing just so tough on this night, Faccinto capped his first night with Tarlton Motorsports off with a sixth-place finish.

“I was really happy with our car speed early in the night, and that makes me excited for what we have since qualifying plays such a big part in a lot of these formats,” Faccinto added. “I am excited to throw the 360ci in this weekend and see how we stack up on a bullring. I really want to thank Tom and Tommy Tarlton for a great opportunity, as well as Drew Warner, Shane Watts, and Cole Macedo for working so hard.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 1, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 0, Top 10’s: 1.

ON TAP: Mitchell Faccinto returns to action Friday and Saturday night in Chico, CA for the annual Silver Cup.
