PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting off to a great start to the night on Saturday, Mason Moore would have a good run going in the feature event but a lap 12 restart would see him make a mistake that relegated him to a 12th place finish.

“The night got off to a really good start, and the F&F Racing guys really gave me a strong car,” Mason Moore said. “I got up into second and misjudged what the leader was going to do on a lap 12 restart and had to go to the back.”

Timing the Geico/Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/Twisted Tea backed No. x1 machine in third quickest amongst the 29 drivers checked into the pit area on Saturday night for Placerville Speedway’s final point race of the season, Moore would start and finish fourth in his heat race.

Moving into the redraw, the Princeton, CA driver would pull the four pill placing him in the second row for the start of the 25-lap feature event. Falling into the fifth position when the race came to life, Moore was very patient as he searched around a very racy Placerville Speedway.

Falling back to sixth on the ninth lap, Moore would have a good restart that saw him surge up to the fourth spot. Continuing to move, Moore would take over the second position and close in on Kofoid just before a yellow flag was needed.

Chasing after the race lead, Moore would misjudge what Kofoid was going to do and he would spin his machine out and bring out the caution flag. Restarting from the tail Moore would show that he indeed had a good car as he was able to advance from 18th to finish in the 12th spot.

“We have had a little rough patch going, and I was really wanting to get these guys a good finish,” Moore added. “It was a little bit of a confidence booster to run up front, and hopefully we can run well this weekend during the two-day Nor-Cal Posse Shootout.”

Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Moore and the F&F Racing team are set to invade Placerville Speedway on Friday and Saturday night for the Nor-Cal Posse Shootout.
