PETERSEN MEDIA: Unfortunately the 2017 season has gone according to Murphy’s Law for Justyn Cox and his Cox Racing team. Though the bad luck has been prominent, Cox will not be deterred and his gearing up for a big week of racing.

“It’s the kind of luck you don’t wish upon anyone, but we are not going to let it get us down,” Justyn Cox said. “With us having more 410ci engine issues over the weekend, I thought we would just be 360ci racing for a while, but thanks to Harley Van Dyke we will be back on Wednesday night with the World of Outlaws in Placerville, CA.”

Losing his second 410ci engine of the season already, Cox will utilize a bullet from Van Dyke Motorsports on Wednesday night in Placerville, CA before getting in his 360ci entry on Saturday night and kicking off the Sprint Car Challenge Tour season in Antioch, CA.

“I have driven for Harley Van Dyke in the past, and he has always been great to me,” Justyn Cox said. “I look forward to running with the Outlaws in Placerville, CA so it was kind of a bummer to think I wouldn’t be able to run this race, but he is making it possible.”

Following Wednesday night’s event Cox will then ready for the highly anticipated opening night of action with the upstart Sprint Car Challenge Tour that will take place in Antioch, CA.

“It is going to be a pretty big week of racing for our team,” Cox added. “Wednesday night will certainly be a huge night with a big crowd, and Saturday night’s SCCT opener is something a lot of people have been working towards for a few months.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Trex, PM Truck Repair, Justice Brothers, K&N, LRB, Konnected, A.R.T., Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, EyeLusions, All American Powder Coating, Coos Bay Speedway, Swimming Pool Perfections, Tim’s Hot Rod Shop, Shell Shock, Moyle Race Engines, and Manzer Motorsports for their support in 2017!

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-3, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-1

ON TAP: Cox will return to action on Wednesday night in Placerville, CA and again on Saturday night in Antioch, CA.
