PETERSEN MEDIA: With the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour invading Yuma, AZ over the weekend, DJ Netto and his Netto Racing team made the trip south to close out their 2014 season.

“It was a tough weekend for our team,” Netto said. “Things did not go our way, but overall, it was a pretty good season for us.”

Friday night at the Cocopah Speedway, Netto lined his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts backed No. 88n in the second row of heat race action, and when the green dropped he quickly worked into the second but as the yellow flag waived.

Back underway, Netto had a rear torsion stop break, making his car tough to drive, and he dropped to the back, and was forced into the B Main.

Starting 11th in the B Main, Netto worked around the track looking for grip, but as he got in line, he ended up finishing in the ninth spot, ending his night.

Saturday night saw Netto line up in the third row of his heat race, and another strong start saw him work into the third spot, but he was called for jumping and ultimately penalized two spots.

Credited with a fifth place finish in his heat, Netto again found himself in the B Main where he lined up in the fifth spot.

Moving into the fourth position when the race came to life, Netto was all over Blake Hahn as a battle for the transfer spot was heating up. With a car getting out of shape in front of him, and sliding up from the infield, Netto got into the wall as he tried to avoid contact with the other car, and the damage ended, what was a very long weekend.

“It was just crazy,” Netto said. “Nothing went our way. We had pretty good speed both nights, but unfortunately we don’t have anything to show for it. I really have to thank everyone who supported me during 2014, and helped on the car. Overall it was a nice season, and we are all ready to get to work for 2015.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: The 2014 season has concluded.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-54, Wins-1, Top 5’s-8, Top 10’s-19
