PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to the Silver Dollar Speedway with a chip on his shoulder from his last appearance at the track, DJ Netto didn’t quite have the weekend he was hoping for during the 26th Annual Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial, but still managed to pick up ninth and 10th place finishes.

“After the speed we had at the Silver Dollar Speedway at the Mini Gold Cup, we all went into the weekend with high expectations, but we just missed it a little,” Netto said. “We tried some things on Friday night hoping to learn for Saturday, and Saturday we just couldn’t get going early in the night.”

During a weekly Friday night show at the Silver Dollar Speedway to open his weekend up, Netto would time the Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Kaeding Performance No. 88n machine in 20th quickest in time trials.

Lining up fifth in his heat race, the Hanford, CA driver needed to gain a spot in the race to transfer directly to the feature event, and he did just that as he worked into fourth place in the race’s final laps.

Gridding the field from the ninth row of the 25-lap feature event, Netto was able to work his way forward on a surface that proved to be tricky at times during the duration of the race. Working into the Top-15, Netto’s hammerdown style would see him crack the Top-10 as he would get by Colby Copeland late to finish in the ninth spot.

Returning to the speedway on Saturday night for the King of the West sanctioned Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial, Netto would qualify 13th fastest during the lucrative qualifying session.

Battling with Dominic Scelzi in heat race action, Netto would finish in the third spot and lock into the 40-lap feature event.

Lining up in the seventh row for the Bradway feature, Netto would get off to a good start as he again got into the Top-10 and battled with Jonathan Allard and Justyn Cox at times.

In a race that would go 40-laps non stop, Netto would try to get around Allard on a few occasions, but unable to make the move, Netto would close his weekend out with a 10th place finish.

“We just struggled to get a handle on our car this weekend, but I have confidence in my guys and know they will get it turned around,” Netto said. “Weekend’s like this happen, and I know we will be back rolling strong in no time at all.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Kaeding Performance, Shell Rotella T6, and Van De Pol Enterprises for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: Netto will be back in action this Saturday night at the Petaluma Speedway in Petaluma, CA.
