PETERSEN MEDIA: Heading back to the Silver Dollar Speedway with a 410ci engine bolted in the Jim and Annette Van Lare owned No. 5v machine, Seth Nunes would recover from bad luck on Friday night to finish 15th on Saturday night with the King of the West Sereis during the Fourth Annual David Tarter Memorial.

“My guys really gave me a great car all weekend long, but the driver seemed to struggle and put us behind the eight ball,” Seth Nunes said.

Taking part in a weekly race at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Nunes would time the Napa Auto Parts/Lucas Oil Products/VSR Steering Repair No. 5v machine in 18th fastest.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Medford, OR driver would finish in the fifth spot and move directly into the night’s feature event. Lining up in the eighth row, Nunes would slowly work his way forward as the race got going.

Around the halfway point, Nunes would catch some debris that would get into his oil filter and cut his right-rear tire down and his night would come to an early end.

Coming back to the speedway on Saturday night to do battle with the King of the West Series, Nunes would not time in as he had hoped and would have his work cut out for him moving forward.

Starting eighth in his heat race and finishing seventh, Nunes would line up for the 35-lap feature in 11th row, and would have a deep hole to work his way out of.

From his 21st starting position, Nunes would be patient as he spent much of the night in heavy traffic. Carefully picking up positions as they came to him, he would close his weekend out with a 15th place finish.

“I really want to thank Jim and Annette Van Lare, and their team for all they do for me,” Nunes said. “Like I said, we had a good car both nights, definitely better than what our results show, so I need to take care of things on my end.”

Seth would like to thank Napa Auto Parts, Lucas Oil Products, VSR Steering Repair, Bianchi Farms, Cameron and Cameron Ranch & Vineyard Supply, CCI, and Awesome Racewear for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: Seth will back in Chico, CA this coming Friday and will then head to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-10, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-2
