PETERSEN MEDIA: After a bit of tough luck for Seth Nunes in his previous race, the Medford, OR driver rebounded nicely over the last weekend as he would finish fifth on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway and third on Saturday night at the Petaluma Speedway.

“I really have to thank Jim and Annette Van Lare for all of their hard work, and continuing to give me a great racecar,” Nunes said. “We had some bad luck a couple weeks back, so it was nice to come out and have a nice weekend for everyone.”

Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Nunes timed the Napa Auto Parts/Lucas Oil Products/VSR Steering Repair in fifth fastest in time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Nunes would race his way to the win and earn a spot in the nightly redraw. Pull the four pill, Nunes would grid the field form the second row for the 25-lap feature event.

With the outside lane taking off well when the race went green, Nunes would jump into the third spot as the race got underway. On a fast Silver Dollar Speedway surface, Nunes would run in the show position until a late restart.

The bunched up field would see both Bud Kaeding and Sean Becker get by and Nunes would finish in the fifth spot.

Traveling to the Petaluma Speedway with the Jim and Annette Van Lare owned No. 5v, Nunes would not time in as he has hoped though he would still end up 10th quickest overall.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, Nunes would make some moves and finish third. With the way things played out, Nunes would become redraw eligible and another four would again line him up in the second row for the 25-lapper.

Nunes would again get off to another strong start as he would surge into the second spot as he chased after race leader, Andy Forsberg. Continuing to run second, Nunes would feel pressure from Ryan Bernal as the laps clicked off.

In the latter stages of the race, Bernal would get by Nunes, and Nunes would fall back to the third spot, where he would go onto finish.

“I just want to thank all of these crew guys for working so hard, and all of the partners that support this team for continuing to make this season possible,” Nunes added.

Seth would like to thank Napa Auto Parts, Lucas Oil Products, VSR Steering Repair, Bianchi Farms, Cameron and Cameron Ranch & Vineyard Supply, CCI, and Awesome Racewear for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: Seth will be back in action this weekend as he will head back to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night before heading to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-21, Wins-0, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-6
