Offill Ready To Return To Racing in California

PETERSEN MEDIA: Capping his stint in the Midwest off at Lake Ozark Speedway and Randolph County Raceway, Kyle Offill is looking forward to getting back to racing in his native California starting this Friday and Saturday night.

“I had a great time racing in the Midwest, and really have to thank everyone that made it possible, and give the McCarl family a special shout out for housing us the last few weeks,” Kyle Offill said. “We are back home in California now, and I am excited to take what I learned the last few weeks and put it to use this weekend at Ocean Speedway and Keller Auto Speedway.”

During his final season weekend of action in the Midwest, Offill kicked things off on Friday night at Lake Ozark Speedway where he would charge from sixth to finish second in his heat race aboard the Country Builders/Ochoco West/Brown and Miller backed No. 88 entry.

Drawing the four pill in the redraw, Offill would find himself running inside the Top-5 as things came to fruition. Continuing to hold down the fifth position, Offill would run into a bit of misfortune as a car would get sideway in front of him.

Making light contact with the out of shape car, Offill would keep his machine under power but lost several positions from the incident. Trying to make something happen on the high side of the speedway to make up the lost ground, Offill would finish the feature event in the 12th position.

Sneaking in one final race on Sunday night in Moberly, MO before making the trip back west, Offill would again have a tough heat race draw as he would lien up in the seventh position.

Picking up one position, Offill’s sixth place finish would place him in the 16th starting position for the feature event.

When the race came to life, Offill would to go work looking to work his way forward. On the second lap, he would have a run of momentum built up but he misjudged his window and contact left him with a damaged front end.

With no allotted time allowed in the work area per Sprint Invader rules, Offill would fire his entry back up, but made the decision to pull off as it was simply too risky on a track with that much speed.

“It was a bummer to end our trip like that, but we had a ton of fun and I really feel like I grew a lot as a driver,” Offill said. “Dillon and the guys really did a great job on my car all trip, and I am looking forward to getting to some familiar soil in California to see what we can do.”

Kyle Offill would like to thank Country Builders, Ochoco West, Brown and Miller, Maas Bros., Reliable Lumber, Boise Cascade, Offill Family Farms, Weld Wheels, HRP, FK Shocks, Arai America Helmets, Hinchman Racewear, Maxim Chassis, and B. Scadden Design for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 11, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 2, Top 10’s: 5

ON TAP: Offill is set to take on Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA on Friday night before traveling to Hanford, CA on Saturday night for the KWS season opener.
