Peterson Takes Lumps at Placerville

PETERSEN MEDIA- A week after serving the Amador County Fire, action returned to the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA and Matt Peterson took his lumps at the speedway, but was able to find the silver lining in his night, when the checkered flag flew on the evening.

“Overall it was just an awkward night, and things just did not go our way,” the Wilton, CA native said. “I have to thank my family, Shane, and Lee for their hard work all night.”

With 28 cars in the house for the showdown at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, Peterson went out early for time trials, and the end result was 19th quick, putting the V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales Company backed No. p37 entry in the third heat race.

Heat race action saw Peterson run much of the race in the fifth spot, but after contact with Steven Tiner, Peterson was able to take the fourth and final transfer spot, and move directly into the night’s feature event.

Lining up in the eight row of the feature event, Peterson searched around the speedway as he looked to get moving in the right direction, but could never seem to get into a rhythm.

On the 14th lap, Peterson got collected with a spinning car, resulting in his Bear Trucking/Future Energy Savers/Transpiration Services entry getting upside down, and going to the work area.

With repairs being made to his entry, Peterson was able to restart from the tail end of the field, and was then able to settle into the race.

From the tail, Peterson was able to find a rhythm, as he worked up a few positions, and salvaged his night with a 13th place finish.

“I couldn’t seem to get into a rhythm in the feature event until after I flipped,” he said. “It was weird to get going pretty good after crashing, but with how the night went, I will take it, and move on. Everyone worked hard, and hopefully we can have a better night with the Civil War Series this weekend.”

Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Peterson and his team will return to action on Saturday night back at the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA as he takes on the Civil War Series during the Mark Forni Classic.
