Reutzel and Roth Motorsports Sixth at Jason Johnson Classic

PETERSEN MEDIA- With Mother Nature factoring into Roth Motorsports’ weekend plans, Saturday’s Jason Johnson Classic was able to run as scheduled and Aaron Reutzel came home with a sixth place finish.

“The rain all week really made for a rough and tumble surface, and it gave the track some character,” Reutzel said. “It was a decent night for our race team, but we still want to be a little better so we will go to work and see what we can do in Pevely, MO this week.”

With rain washing out Friday’s scheduled event at US 36 Raceway, Saturday’s tilt at Lake Ozark Speedway was able to proceed, though the weather created a very rough and fast racing surface.

Reutzel would open the night up by timing the Roth Enterprises/Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co./HR Livestock backed No. 83 mount in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, the Clute, TX runner would pick up a third-place finish, which would then place him in the fourth row for the 30-lap Jason Johnson Classic feature event.

As the race came to life, Reutzel would keep pace in the Top-10 as the first six laps ripped off in no time at all until the red flag was needed.

Once the accident was cleared, the next 24-laps would be a test of strength and determination on the dauting surface. Reutzel would turn in lightning-fast laps, though positions would be hard to pick up.

Able to gain a couple of spots, Reutzel would move into sixth as he chased after Carson Macedo. The hammer down surface, would continue to showcase a ton of speed and made passing difficult even in the closing stages.

When the checkered flag flew, Reutzel brought the Roth Motorsports machine home with a sixth-place finish.

“I have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for their continued support and allowing us to run with these guys nightly,” Reutzel added . ”Our car is feeling good, and we will try to get back in victory lane this weekend.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co., HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, Southern Pacific Farms, All Star Performance, FK Rod Ends, Vahlco Wheels, Triple X Race Co., AL Drive Lines, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Wings Unlimited, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, Smith Titanium, and Team Simpson for their support in 2021.
