Robert Ballou 10th at #LetsRaceTwo Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA: After a tough outing to open #LetsRaceTwo weekend on Friday at Eldora Speedway, Robert Ballou was able to close his weekend out with a 10th place finish on Saturday night.

“Friday night, we tried something on our car in the feature and learned that it did not work as we went backwards in a hurry,” Ballou said. “Saturday night I thought we were really good, but our right rear started to come apart late in the feature and we held on to finish in 10th.”

Following a 13th place finish on Friday night after lining up in the eighth starting position, Ballou was back in action on Saturday night and jumpstarted his night by timing his The BOSS/Suburban Subaru/Deaton’s Waterfront Service backed No. 12 in 17th fastest in time trials.

Lining up on the pole of his heat race, ‘The Mad Man’ has hard on the throttle as he jumped out to the early lead. On the slick Eldora Speedway surface, Ballou kept the field as bay as he raced on to grab the win which secured him the ninth starting position in the 30-lap feature event.

On the big slick half mile, Ballou worked his way through the Top-10 during the early goings of the race.

Getting into seventh, Ballou continued to race hard as he searched for a spot in the Top-Five. Getting into sixth just past the race’s halfway point, the Rocklin, CA native began to fight a vibration that was getting increasingly worse lap after lap.

As laps clicked down to the finish, Ballou’s charge stalled out and he began to slip back. Hanging on as best he could, Ballou was able to keep his entry inside the Top-10 as he took the checkered flag with a 10th place finish.

“We got into sixth, then started dealing with a vibration,” Ballou said. “I could tell we had an issue with our tire, and all I could do was hang on for the last 10-laps or so. Saturday was definitely a much better night, but we still have a couple of things to work out.”

Robert Ballou would like to thank Suburban Subaru, Deaton’s Waterfront Service, Rossie Feed and Grain, Berks Western Telecom, Inc., Dan Roberts Motorsports, Dragonfly Aviation, Hinchman Indy, Don Ott Racing Engines, Manvel Motorsports, CSI Shocks, Walker Performance Filtration, Amsoil Inc, Murray’s Body Shop, Pacific Grass and Turf, MPHG Promotions Inc, Team Jack Foundation, Olson Custom Design, Konnected Clothing, Hooker Harness, Indy Race Parts, Hoosier Tire, Schoenfeld Headers, ISC Racers Tape, Chalk Racing Products, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Saldana Racing Products, Moose Blocks, Inc., AO Designs, and Arai Helmets for their support.
