PETERSEN MEDIA- Last weekend was a roller coaster weekend for the Lunstra Motorsports team. After celebrating what they thought was their first win at the Knoxville Raceway with Tim Kaeding on Saturday night, the team would be disqualified for an illegal muffler, before finishing second at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night with Clint Garner at the helm of the No. 3 car.

“We had a great run on Saturday night, but our muffler did not comply with the Knoxville Raceway rules, and we want to apologize to all of our fans and supporters,” Tim Kaeding said. “I am as disappointed as anyone, but unfortunately as a team, we didn’t catch it and we were forced to pay the price.”

Taking to the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night for twin-feature night, Kaeding would get the night started by timing the Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Sioux Falls Ford No. 3 machine timed in third fastest in time trials.

Following a fifth place finish in his heat race, the San Jose, CA driver would line up in the third spot. Over the first five laps of the race, TK would fight for the third spot with Justin Henderson before Tk slipped to fourth in what was a non-stop feature event.

Getting into traffic, Kaeding would work back into third with just five laps to go in the feature event. On the 19th circuit he would get by Knoxville ace, Danny Lasoski to take over the second spot, and with the white flag in the air would get by Brian Brown getting into turns one and two to take the lead and score his first win of the season at the track.

After the race was complete, it was found that Kaeding’s muffler did not comply with the Knoxville Raceway and he was stripped of the win and the sixth place effort in the second feature.

With Kaeding needing to tend so a personal issue in his native California, the team went to veteran driver, Clint Garner, to pilot their machine on Sunday night at the Huset’s Speedway.

With Garner timing in third fastest in time trials, he would then finish sixth in his heat race, and line up in the second row of the feature event.

Battling with Matt Juhl in the early stages of the race for the second spot, Garner would eventually take over the spot for good, as he looked to put Lunstra Motorsports in victory lane for the second consecutive week at the Huset’s Speedway.

Getting alongside race leader, Logan Forler, in the final laps, Garner would come up just short in finish in the second spot.

The entire Lunstra Motorsports team would like to extend a ‘Thank You’ to Clint Garner for filling in on Sunday night, and running a very strong race.

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Dammer Trucking, Folkens Bros. Trucking, Sioux Falls Ford, Yager Agriculture Supply, EMI, Matt’s Repair, Octane Ink, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2015.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team now look ahead to NSL Speedweek that kicks off on Tuesday night at the Hancock County Speedway, Wednesday night at the Iowa State Fair Speedway, Thursday night at the Jackson Speedway, Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway and Sunday night at the Huset’s Speedway.
