PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Petaluma, CA Ryan Bernal flirted with his first career King of the West win but issues in traffic would ultimately see him cap his night with a 10thplace finish.

“We were really good all night long, and I think we had the car to win,” Bernal said “Unfortunately we got collected with a car in traffic and ended up finishing 10th. I can’t thank this team enough for working so hard for me.”

Getting the night started off great, Bernal would earn ARP quick time honors aboard the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum backed No. 21 mount.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Bernal would maintain and finish in the fourth position, which proved to be good enough to move him into the Sunny Valley Bacon Dash.

Surging to the win in the Dash, the Hollister, CA driver looked to keep a very strong night going as he led the field to green for the 30-lap King of the West feature event. When the green lights flashed for the 30-lap finale, Bernal smashed the fun button as he jumped out to the early lead.

Out in front, Bernal set a torrid pace and simply left the field in his wake as he looked to be in firm control of this one. Clicking off laps, Bernal would find himself in dense traffic that would ultimately break his night.

Taking the cross flags as the leader, Bernal would get tangled up with a car he was attempting to lap and it would bring out the caution flag and he would relinquish the top spot.

From the back of the pack, Bernal would do all he could in the final 15 laps as he would get back to 10that the finish and continue to keep the points lead as the series travels to Watsonville, CA this weekend.

“We are getting faster and faster each and every night out, and I want to get that first win already,” Bernal said. “Again, big thanks to the Tarlton family for believing in me, and to Paul Baines and the guys for taking care of business at the shop and putting a great car under me.”

Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, NOS Energy Drink, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support.
