Ryan Robinson 5th with SCCT at Marysville Raceway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Checking in at Marysville Raceway on Saturday night looking to duplicate their success at the track form the 2020 season, Ryan Robinson and Weiher Racing would pick up a hard fought fifth place finish against the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.

“As a team we were really confident heading into Sunday’s race at Marysville based on our previous success at the track,” Robinson said. “We timed in fourth in our qualifying group, which set us back a little, but the guys worked really hard, and we were able to move forward each time we hit the track after that.”

With 30 cars on hand for the fifth installment of the 2021 Sprint Car Challenge Tour Schedule, Robinson timed the Mako Farms, Inc./LP Holdings/Roseville Precision, Inc. backed No. 14w in fourth fastest in his qualifying group.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Robinson would need to grab the win for a chance to qualify for the Dash. Giving it his all on the hooked-up surface, Robinson would get into second, and though it wasn’t enough for the Dash it would transfer him directly into the 35-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 11th starting position, Robinson would be up to the challenge of working his way through the field. After falling back to 13th when the race came to life, Robinson would quickly start moving the right direction as he cracked the Top-10 by the third lap.

Continuing to make things happen, the Roseville, CA pilot would work his way up to seventh before the first stoppage of the race came just before the race hit the halfway point.

Back underway, close quarters racing action would see Robinson slip back to 10th, but a couple of big moves would see him jump into seventh on the 17th lap.

Getting into fifth with 15-to-go, passing would become more difficult with much of the Top-5 spread out. Able to hang on to the spot as the laps wound down, Robinson would close a nice charge out with a fifth-place finish.

“We were really fast in the feature, we just needed to start a little further forward to have a better shot at it,” Robinson added. “Again, thanks to Todd and the guys for all their hard work on a pretty hot day to race in.”

Weiher Racing would like to thank Mako Farms, Inc., LP Holdings, Roseville Precision, Inc., Escalon Body and Frame, Seth’s Racing Engines, Papa Chuck, Dave Harvey Trucking, and Morrison Concrete for their support in 2021!

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-12, Wins-1, Top 5’s-4, Top 10’s-11

ON TAP: Robinson will be idle this weekend as he prepared for a busy weekend next week. At this time, he is slated to pilot the Phulps Racing No. 56 entry on the 11th in Watsonville, CA before returning to the seat of the Weiher Racing entry on the 12th in Placerville, CA. That night will see Robinson also compete with the KWS back in the No. 56 car as well.
