PETERSEN MEDIA- Friday night at the Nor*Cal Posse Shootout opener, Justin Sanders overcame an early issue in the feature event and charged up to an eighth place finish before a heat race incident essentially ended his Saturday night.

“It was a bit of a tough weekend for us, we didn’t have much luck on our side,” Justin Sanders said. “Friday night we got caught up just before the halfway point of the feature but still ran it back up to eighth, and on Saturday an opening lap incident in our heat buried us for the rest of the night.”

Piloting Dale Miller’s No. 4SA entry during the final weekend of competition at Placerville Speedway, Friday night Justin Sanders would get timed in second in his qualifying group before finishing fourth in his heat race.

Transferring directly into the feature event from his heat, Sanders would grid the field from the 15thstarting position on the slick racing surface. Working his way forward, Sanders would find himself on the outside of the Top-10 before issues on the 11thlap saw him bring out the yellow.

Going to the tail end of the field, Sanders would put on a bit of show in the race’s final 14 laps. Clawing his way around the bullring, Sanders would race into the Top-10 and close his night out with an eighth place finish.

Back in action on Saturday night for the final race of the year at Placerville Speedway, Sanders would get timed in fifth quickest in his group which placed him in the third row of his heat race.

With a driver getting out of shape in front of him on the opening lap of the race, Sanders would make contact with him and endure contact from another car and get upside down.

Taking the DNF in the heat, Sanders would have his work cut out for himself the rest of the night as he would be in the ‘C’. Able to transfer out of the ‘C’, Sanders tagged the rear of the ‘B’.

From the tail of the ‘B’, Sanders could only work his way up to 12thwhen the 15-lapper concluded and that brought an end to his weekend.

“Saturday was definitely a forgettable night,” Justin Sanders said. “Thanks to Dale and Tara Miller and their team, hopefully we can put this weekend behind us and have a good showing in Chico, CA this weekend.”
