PETERSEN MEDIA: Sidelined for a few weeks after a couple tough races forced him to regroup, Sean Watts and his familiar No. 98 machine returned to King of the West action on Saturday night in Placerville, CA where the Atwater, CA driver finished 14th.

“I have to thank everyone that worked hard to make this all possible,” Sean Watts said. “It was a team effort to get the car built and to get to Placerville Speedway. I am kind of bummed we have to wait another week to get back to racing, but it felt really good to get the No. 98 back on track.”

Timing the Grizzly Coolers/Schaeffer Racing Oil/Rolfe Construction backed No. 98 machine in 14th quickest in qualifying time trials, Watts would find himself in the night’s second heat race.

Finishing sixth in heat race action, Watts would move into the 30-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the 13th starting position.

After a couple of early stoppages, the race would get into an extended green-flag run on a very slicked off Placerville Speedway racing surface. Battling with some stiff competition as he continued to shake out a new car, Watts would search around for grip as he chased after position inside the Top-10.

Battling with drivers like Colby Copeland, Andy Forsberg, and Tim Kaeding Watts would find himself back in 14th as the laps wound down. When the dust settled on the feature event, Watts was happy with a relatively event free night as he finished 14th.

“Our season has been tough, so to have an event free night our first night back is pretty good,” Sean Watts said. “It was great to get back to our normal routine, and we have some work to do to get better, but we will be ready for Petaluma Speedway in a couple of weeks. Again, I have to thank everyone who made this all possible.”

Sean and the Watts Rolfe Speed-Sports team would like to thank Grizzly Coolers, Schaeffer Racing Oil, Rolfe Construction, Billet America, Darrel Varni Electric, Kaeding Performance, Shannon Pumps, Stealth Homes, Tee’s and Tops, Team Simpson, Kistler Racing Engines, and Stan Yockey Motorsports for their continued support.
