PETERSEN MEDIA- A busy month of June for Jarrett Soares continued this past weekend as he battled with the King of the West Series at Petaluma Speedway for the series’ eighth event of the 2017 season. When it was all said and done, Soares would take home a 13th place finish.

“Petaluma has always been a tough track for me, and Saturday night it threw everyone a bit of a curveball with how slick it was,” Soares said. “Brian and my dad worked really hard all night to give me a great racecar.”

Timing in 13th fastest in qualifying time trials, Soares would race to a sixth place finish in his heat race aboard the American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Dickens Cider backed No. 12 machine.

Lining up 13th in the feature event, a slick surface would continue to be tough on Soares as he admittedly still is trying to get comfortable searching for grip.

With a couple stoppages coming in the first laps, Soares would settle into a nice groove when the race got into an extended green-flag run. Running a patient race, Soares would hold down the 13th spot for the duration of the race.

Racing with the likes of Chase Majdic and Brent Bjork in the latter stages of the race, Soares would hang to end his night with a 13th place finish.

“It was pretty tricky in the feature event,” Soares added. “We had a good car, but I need to be even more patient when the track is like that. We have a pretty big weekend on tap and hopefully we can put some good runs together.”

Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Dickens Cider, and Walker Performance Filtration for their support.

ON TAP: Soares returns to action with the King of the West Series on Friday night in Watsonville, CA and on Saturday nigh tin Calistoga, CA. Saturday night will also see Soares compete with the SCCT 360 Series in ‘Stoga, and there is even a Sunday race in Petaluma, CA that the team may hit.
