PETERSEN MEDIA- Traveling to Ocean Speedway on Friday night for an Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo event and Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night for a King of the West race, Jarett Soares was pleased with his sixth and 11th place runs.

“Overall it was a solid weekend for the team,” Jarrett Soares said. “We battled hard with Brent Kaeding for a Top-Five on Friday night, and Saturday night I did everything I could to get into the Top-10, I just came up a little short.”

Friday night in Watsonville, CA, Soares got his night kicked off by timing the American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Walker Performance Filtration backed No. 12 machine in seventh quickest in qualifying time trials.

Finishing third in his heat race, Soares would just miss out on the Dash and would find himself in the ninth starting position for the 30-lap feature event. On a racy Ocean Speedway surface, Soares was able to work his way forward and find himself in the fifth spot early in the race.

Running fifth, Soares would soon have his hands full with veteran, Brent Kaeding who did everything he could to wrestle the fifth spot from the Discovery Bay, CA driver. In the closing laps, Soares would yield the position but still finished sixth.

Going to the 410ci car on Saturday night, Soares and company made the trip to Petaluma Speedway to resume action with the King of the West Series. Timing the Performance Powder Coating/Bailey Brothers Racing Engines sprinter in 13th quickest in time trials, Soares would start and finish fifth in his heat race.

Lining up in the 13th starting position for the 30-lap feature event, Soares would maintain in the early stages of the race as much of the field utilized the bottom groove of the track.

As the race moved along, Soares would try to search around as he looked for position inside the Top-10 as he moved into the 11th spot. Trying to make the high side in turns one and two work late in the race, Soares would battle with Gio Scelzi and Colby Wiesz as he came home with an 11th place finish.

“It was the kind of weekend me and my guys needed,” Soares said. “It was a good weekend for us to leave off on now that we have a couple weeks off.”

Jarrett and his Jarrett Soares Racing team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Dickens Cider, and Walker Performance Filtration for their support.

ON TAP: Soares will return to action on September 22nd in Watsonville, CA.
