PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in a busy stretch in the Pacific North West, Jason Solwold took on the World of Outlaws on three occasions where he would finish eighth, 11th, and 15th, and also managed to pick up a 360ci win at the Gray’s Harbor Raceway.

“We were okay with the World of Outlaws at the Skagit Speedway, but not quite where we had hoped to be,” Solwold said. “We had a good night with the 360ci car in Elma, WA, and had struggled a little in Lebanon, OR. “

Kicking the busy stretch off at the Skagit Speedway in Alger, WA, Solwold would time his Scotties Plumbing/NW Team Excavating/KarMart Motorsports machine in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, the Burlington, WA driver would pick up a key position as a third place finish placed him in the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event.

Spending much of Friday night battling with Travis Rilat and Dominic Scelzi for position, Solwold would close the Friday night program with an 11th place finish.

Returning to the famed speedway last Saturday night, Solwold would get off to an even better start on this night as he would time in seventh fastest in time trials, before tallying another third place finish in his heat race.

Gridding the field from the fourth row 35-lap feature event, Solwold would run well as he held down position inside the Top-10. Racing with Logan Schuchart and Trey Starks at times, Solwold continued to run inside the Top-10.

Late in the race, Solwold would lose a spot to a charging Donny Schatz, but would still finish in the eighth spot when the race concluded.

Heading to the Gray’s Harbor Raceway for a Summer Thunder Series event, Solwold would finish second in his heat race and find himself in the third row for the feature event.

Having a great car on this night, Solwold would quickly work his way up into the second spot before taking over the race lead on the sixth lap. With Travis Rilat chasing him down, Solwold would open up a sizeable lead and look to be comfortably on his way to a victory until a late caution would fly.

With Trey Starks now behind him, Solwold would have no problems as he powered his way to his fifth win of the season.

Meeting back up with the World of Outlaws on Wednesday night at the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, OR, Solwold was a little off in time trials as he timed in 14th fastest.

Finishing eighth in his heat race, the former Dirt Cup Champion would line up in the eighth row for the 30-lap feature event.

With the track extremely fast, passing would be tough to come by as the race clicked off in 7 minutes and three seconds. Stuck back in the 16th spot, Solwold would close his night out with a 15th place finish.

“It was great to get another win for this team, but qualifying is where it’s at with the World of Outlaws, and I struggled to get us timed in well,” Solwold added. “We still have some racing to do, and I would love to get this car back into victory lane.”

Solwold and the Shaylen Raye Motorsports team would like to thank Scottie’s Plumbing, NW Team Excavating, KarMart Motorsports, Doyle Guffie’s Rayle Auto Sales, Pops Entertainment, Vic’s 66, Speedmart, After Hours Painting, Triple X Race Co., Al Parker Race Engines, Wings Unlimited, Slade Shocks, Rob Graham Trucking, Wings Unlimited, Meyer Sings, Vahlco Wheels, Fuel Safe, and Pro Signs for their continued support.
