Steven Tiner Gives C&M Motorsports First Top-5 of 2022 Season

PETERSEN MEDIA- Since opening Tiner Hirst Enterprises back in 2019, Steven Tiner has made spot starts over the last four years. Not missing a beat, Tiner flexed some muscle on Saturday night aboard the C&M Motorsports No. 7c, as he picked up a fifth-place finish at Placerville Speedway.

“Saturday night was one of those nights where I felt like I could have battled for a win with Cody and Mandi if I wasn’t so rusty,” Steven Tiner said. “I felt really good all night long, but a little rust and some time away hindered me in the seat. I had a blast, and am super thankful they gave me a shot.”

With 24 cars checked into Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Tiner timed the C&M Motorsports No. 7c in 15thfastest in qualifying time trials. While it wasn’t the desired result, it was good enough to put Tiner on the front row of his heat race and give him a shot at earning a spot in the redraw.

Getting the jump in his heat race, Tiner was able to wire the field aboard the Legacy Specialties/Lund Construction/Anrak backed entry. Picking up the win, Tiner was successful at earning the redraw berth as the number seven put him in the fourth row of the 25-lap affair.

Jumping into sixth as the race came to life, Tiner found himself in a torrid battle with Justyn Cox for position in the Top five. Able to clear Cox at the race’s halfway point, Tiner closed in on fourth running Andy Forsberg as the leaders battled traffic as well as each other.

Closing in on Forsberg a couple of times, Tiner would try to inch by, but wouldn’t make anything stick. When the dust settled on the 25-lapper, Tiner capped off a great night with the C&M Motorsports bunch as he picked up a fifth place finish which marked the team’s first Top-Five off the season.

“Though it’s only my fifth start in the last three seasons, I always get the itch to race more after words but with responsibilities changing, I am happy to run when I get the chance,” Tiner added. “I am really proud of the result going up against the stout locals, and again, I am really thankful for the opportunity to run with Cody, Mandi, and their team.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Legacy Specialties Inc., Lund Construction, Anrak, Sam Rhodes, Alturas Tires, Swartz Diesel, PT Shocks, Creason Enterprises, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: C&M Motorsports will return to action this coming Saturday in Placerville, CA with Tony Gomes behind the wheel.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-14, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-9
