PETERSEN MEDIA: Though a late race flat tire hampered him, Steven Tiner was pleased how things went on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA.

“It was way better than I have felt all year long,” Steven Tiner said in regards to his trip to the ¼ mile. “We have speed all night long, and we were able to move forward and battle.”

Checked to the famous ¼ mile on Saturday night with 24 other competitors, Tiner timed his Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in fourth fastest, which lined him up in the second row of a heat race.

Pocketing a third place finish during his heat, Tiner would move into the redraw, where the eight pill lined him up in the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event.

In the opening laps of the race, Tiner was able to work his way forward as he worked up to the fourth spot at one point during the ‘A’ main event.

Battling for position inside the Top-Five late in the race, contact would leave Tiner with a right-rear flat tire and he would be forced to the work area on the 15th lap.

Able to make repairs, Tiner would restart from the tail end of the field with 10-laps to go. In a limited amount of laps, Tiner would get back all he could as he fought his way forward a few positions and closed his night out with a 10th place finish.

“A step in the right direction, but still have some work to do,” Tiner added. “We keep working at it, and hopefully we can continue to progress on Saturday night in Stockton, CA.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, B&B Racing Engines, ART, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-8, Wins-0, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-3

ON TAP: Tiner will get right back to racing as he is scheduled to take part in the SCCT race on Saturday night in Stockton, CA.
