Summer Nationals Top-10 for Sean Becker and Cook Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Despite getting off to a slow start on Friday night in Chico, CA, Sean Becker and Cook Motorsports bounced back in the feature just as they did back at the Silver Cup and Becker worked his way forward and pocketed a seventh-place finish against the 61 car field.

“Friday night felt like déjà vu from our Silver Cup together at the beginning of the year,” Sean Becker said. “We kind of struggled all night and snuck into the feature event, but in the ‘A’ track conditions agreed with our car and we had a good run.”

Timing the Absolute Plumbing/Cook’s Contracting/CSR Builders No. 22x in seventh fastest in his qualifying group, ‘The Shark’ would line up seventh in his heat race.

Slipping back to an eighth-place finish, Becker would be bound to the ‘B’ where he would take the green flag from the 10th starting position as he chased after one of just fourth positions left into the feature event.

Coming to life in the ‘B’, Becker had his elbows up as he worked hard on the famed ¼ mile nestled in Northern California. Picking cars off lap after lap, Becker’s third place finish successfully locked him into the feature event, though he took the green flag from the 23rd starting position.

Just as he did in the ‘B’, Becker continued to be extremely fast when the ‘A’ rolled off. Working his way around the Silver Dollar Speedway bullring with extreme precision, the Roseville, CA driver cracked the Top-10 at the halfway point of the star-studded feature event.

Briefly falling back to 11th, Becker surged up to sixth on the race’s 19th lap before slipping back to seventh with nine to go.

Continuing to look for a way into the Top-5, Becker took sixth over on the 24th lap, but fell back to seventh when the 30-lapper came to a close.

“The Cook Motorsports car was really good on restarts, and that helped our cause a lot as he we took full advantage of all of them and battled our way to a good finish,” Becker added.

Cook Motorsports would like to thank Absolute Plumbing, Cook’s Contracting, CSR Builders, Shark Racing Engines, Cottage Grove Inn, Primetime Designs, Highline Performance, Les Schwab, and Cascade Pizza for their support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 7, Wins- 0, Top 5’s- 2, Top 10’s-4

ON TAP: Cook Motorsports is TBD on their next event.
