PETERSEN MEDIA: Tanner Carrick took advantage full advantage of a break in his Keith Kunz Motorsports schedule to return to California and get some sprint car racing in. Fighting steering issues at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA on Friday night, Carrick would bounce back and finish 10th at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

“Friday night was a rough one,” Carrick said. “We fought steering issues all night and it made for a long day. Saturday though, we had things figured out and I felt like it went pretty good.”

Checking into the ¼ mile Placerville Speedway on Saturday, the Lincoln, CA driver would time the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine in 16th quickest in time trials.

Just making the heat race inversion, Carrick would line up on the front row of his heat race alongside Kirt Organ. Running third in his heat race, Carrick would move into the 25-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the 15th starting position.

A slick surface in the feature event would see much of the field work the low groove battling for grip. A couple of early cautions would slow things down, but an extended green flag run would see Carrick pick up some track position.

Racing his way into the Top-10 late in the feature, Carrick would take the checkered flag with a 10th place finish.

Friday night saw the Tanner Carrick Racing team check in at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for a rare 360ci event.

Fighting issues in time trials, Carrick would time the Conti/Harris and Sloan/Emerald backed entry in 16th fastest as the team then went to work to diagnose problem.

Missing the heat race as work continued, Carrick would line up 17th for the feature event. The fresh surface that went down on the speedway earlier in the week seemed to hold moisture really well but that would result in an extremely fast racing surface.

With not much passing happening through the field, Carrick focused on hitting his marks and continuing to make valuable laps in the winged sprint car as he finished 16th.

“I have to thank Clark, and everyone for working so hard,” Carrick said. “I am looking forward to another weekend of sprint car racing this week.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, and Timberworks Construction for their support.

ON TAP: Tanner Carrick will be back aboard the TCR No. 83T this weekend as they will return to Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night and then head to Marysville Raceway on Saturday night.
