PETERSEN MEDIA: Though he lost his nose wing on the first lap of the 30-lap race on Friday night in Hanford, CA, Steven Tiner did all he could to pocket a seventh place finish.

“Unfortunately something let go, and our nose wing collapsed, and that made our car a handful for the 30-lap feature event,” Tiner said. “We had  to scramble early in the night, and I thank all of my guys for their hard work.”

With 22 cars in the pit area on Friday night, Tiner fought some gremlins as he timed his Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 entry in 12th fastest.

Making some adjustments after his qualifying run, the Visalia, CA driver picked up a second place finish in heat race action, and lined his Fisher Racing Engines/Harvest Supply/Powder Coat-It powered machine up in the fourth row for the 30-lap contest.

As the race came to life, Tiner saw his nose wing collapse very early, and he did all he could to keep his machine in contention. With his front end dancing around, Tiner kept his right-ear glued to the cushion, as he battled with the likes of Landon Hurst, and Michael Faccinto.

Putting together a very gutty performance, Tiner would take the checkered flag with a seventh place finish.

With a night off scheduled for Saturday night, Tiner made his way out to the Little Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA as he hopped aboard an Outlaw Kart. Lining up for his heat race in the third row, Tiner was able to work his way up to a second place finish.

Continuing to get the hang of the Kart, Tiner would line up for the feature event in the fourth row. As Tiner continued to acclimate, he continued to get stronger, as he would work his way forward to pick up a fourth place finish at the checkered flag.

“Though we were able to get a respectable finish on Friday night, it was a frustrating night from hot laps to feature event,” Tiner said. “We had some issues, but like I said, my guys did a great job and we will move forward. “

“Saturday night was a blast,” he would add. “It took a little bit to adjust to the kart, but we had a good run, and I have to thank everyone who made that possible.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-7, Wins-2, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-7

ON TAP: Steven Tiner will take a week off before returning to action Memorial Day weekend with the Civil War Series.
