PETERSEN MEDIA: Visalia, CA driver, Steven Tiner was in action for a pair of 360ci shows over the past weekend, and when the checkered flag flew on both races, Tiner was in the Top-Five on both occasions, including a third place finish on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway.

“We had a patch of rough luck going, abut the last two weeks we have been pretty good, and I am really liking the feel of everything, and am hopeful we can keep this up through the end of the Summer.”

Heading north to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Tiner timed his Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/BR Motorsports/King Racing Products No. 94 entry in second fastest to Sean Becker.

Heat race action saw finish in the third spot, putting him in the third row for the feature event. On a track that was tough to make moves on, Tiner found himself in a race long battle with local product Mason Moore, as they fought for the fourth spot.

Working Moore with everything he had, Tiner would end his night with a fifth place finish, as he looked to improve on his run at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

With 28 cars on hand at the high banked ¼ mile facility, Tiner kicked his night of by timing in the Elma Lanes/Harvest Supply/System 1 backed entry in third fastest.

Heat race action saw Tiner make a couple of mistakes, and it resulted in a fifth place finish, putting him in the B main which he would go on to win, and make the feature event.

Starting in the ninth spot for the feature event, Tiner got off to a nice start, as he worked his machine in the third spot, as he chased after Justin Sanders and Shane Golobic, as most of the feature event was spent in thick lapped traffic.

A late restart put Tiner on Sanders’ tail, but time ran out on the feature event, and the shortened feature event ended with Tiner crossing the stripe in the third spot.

“We got rolling really good in the feature at Placerville,” Tiner said. “This weekend there is a huge race up there, so we are feeling confident heading back there on Saturday night for the Mark Forni Classic.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, BR Motorsports, King Racing Products, Elma Lanes, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, Dan Olson Race Products, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Good Ridge, Schoenfeld, Western Metal Company, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2013 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-27, Wins-2, Top 5’s-11, Top 10’s-17

ON TAP: Tiner will look to carry his momentum to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night with the Civil War Series for the Mark Fornia Classic.
