PETERSEN MEDIA- Over the last week, Tim Kaeding and the Lunstra Motorsports team have been quite the group of hard chargers. Though it means they aren’t quite getting off to great starts each night, in racing it’s about how you finish and Kaeding has been good at passing cars.

“We have been pretty consistent,” Kaeding said. “We struggle early and run really well in the feature, so if we can get better in time trials and in heat races, I think we can contend up front.”

Kicking the week off at Granite City Speedway in Saux Rapids, IL with the World of Outlaws, Kaeding would time in 10th quickest in qualifying time trials before finishing fifth in his heat race aboard the Folkens Bros. Trucking/Dammer Trucking/East River Homes No. 3 machine.

Moving into the feature event, the San Jose, CA driver would like up in the 13th starting spot. Not having the greatest of nights, he couldn’t seem to get rolling as he hung around to finish in the 17th spot.

Breaking away from the Outlaws to compete at Jackson Motorplex on Friday night, Kaeding would time in 12th fastest during qualifications. Finishing sixth in his heat race, the Lunstra Motorsports team would go to work as they would grid the field from the 18th starting position.

When the feature event came to life, it was apparent Kaeding and his guys made the right adjustments as the No. 3 machine was simply on a terror. Carving his way through the field on the big ½ mile, Kaeding could put his car anywhere he  needed to.

Working his way up into the Top-10 in the 20-lap feature event, Kaeding would take the checkered flag with a seventh place finish.

Saturday night the team met back up with the “Greatest Show on Dirt” as the series invaded Beaver Dam Raceway.

Timing the Mihm Trucking/Yager Ag Supply/Matt’s Repair entry in 11th quickest in his qualifying flight, Kaeding would pocket a fifth place finish during heat race action.

Transferring to the feature event, TK would take the green flag from the 17th starting position. On a heavy and rough racing surface, TK would again put on a hard charge just as he did on Friday night.

Running a patient race and avoiding some of the carnage, Kaeding would advance to the seventh spot for the second night in a row.

Regrouping on Sunday and Monday, the Lunstra Motorsports team was back in action with the Outlaws on Tuesday night as the series returned to Joliet, IL to compete at the Dirt Oval at Route 66.

After timing in 26th fastest in time trials, Kaeding and company would have their work cut out for them after starting the night out in an early hole. Failing to transfer out of the heat race, Kaeding would race to a second place finish in the Last Chance Showdown and successfully transfer into the feature.

On the big, wide Dirt Oval at Route 66, Kaeding would come into his own during the main event. From his 20th starting position, Kaeding would again put on a passing display as he was able to navigate the Lunstra Motorsports No. 3 forward to a 13th place finish.

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Folkens Bros. Trucking, Dammer Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, East River Homes, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Tim and Lunstra Motorsports will again battle with the World of Outlaws Thursday night at Deer Creek Speedway, will return to the Jackson Motorplex on Friday, and will battle the Outlaws at Dakota State Fair Speedway on Saturday.
