PETERSEN MEDIA- In just a handful of starts together in 2015, Tim Kaeding and the Lunstra Motorsports team are proving to be a potent combination, as the San Jose, CA picked up two Top-5 finishes with the National Sprint League over the weekend. “We had an awesome car all weekend long, and I have to thank everyone who works on this car,” Kaeding said. “I did not time in well enough on Friday night, and on Saturday night we just ran out of laps.”

Hitting the Eagle Raceway in Eagle, NE on Friday night, Kaeding timed the Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bro. Trucking/Sioux Falls Fords No. 3 machine in 19th fastest amongst the 30 cars gathered in the pit area.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, Kaeding jumped out to the early lead, and went on to pick up the win, as he safely moved into the feature event, though he would line up in the ninth row for the 30-lap feature event.

Just as he did in the NSL opener a few weeks back, Kaeding moved forward, as he took a liking to the Eagle Raceway cushion. On a track that featured wheel to wheel action at both ends, Kaeding was able to work his way forward, and earn KSE Hard Charger honors as he worked to a fifth place finish.

With Mother Nature finally giving way to racing at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night, TK rode his momentum from Friday night into time trials, as he timed in fourth quickest.

Lining up sixth in his heat race, Kaeding would finish in the fifth spot, and move into the feature event, where he would line the Yager Agriculture Supply/Matt’s Repair/Octane Ink entry up in the fourth row.

Following a caution at the completion of the first lap, laps 2-21 would go non stop, and during that run, Kaeding would carve his way forward, getting by Bill Balog, Davey Heskin, and Josh Schneidermen, as he got into the third spot, and began his pursuit of Wayne Johnson and Danny Lasoski.

The caution would fly on the 21st lap, putting the leaders nose to tail, and as the race resumed, TK would waste no time getting around Johnson for second, as he chased after Lasoski for the final few laps. Unable to catch the leader, Kaeding would close his night out with a second place finish.

“We just needed another five laps to make the finish interesting, or we needed that caution fly a few laps earlier,” Kaeding said. “Overall, we are really pleased with how the weekend went, and hopefully the rain stays away so we can keep racing.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Dammer Trucking, Folkens Bros. Trucking, Sioux Falls Ford, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, Octane Ink, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2015.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be back in action with the NSL on Friday night in Jacksonville, IL, and then on Saturday at the Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville Points), and on Sunday for the Huset’s Speedway 410 opener.
