PETERSEN MEDIA- Tim Kaeding and his Lunstra Motorsports team simply put on a show on Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway. Following a dismal qualifying effort, Kaeding had his elbows up in the feature event as he clawed his way from his 17th starting position to finish in the fourth on.

“We tried something in time trials that didn’t work out how we had hoped, but when we went back to what we have been doing we really had an awesome racecar on Saturday night,” Tim Kaeding said.

Timing the Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Mihm Trucking No. 3 machine in 19th quickest, Kaeding would have his work cut out for him for the duration of the program.

Lining up seventh in his heat race, the San Jose, CA driver worked his way up to finish in the fifth spot, which would place him in the ninth row for the 20-lap A Main.

During the feature event, TK was simply exciting. From the back of the pack he was a man on a mission once green flag dropped as he sliced and diced through the field on the historic ½ mile raceway.

Using up every piece of open real estate, Kaeding would go where the others weren’t as he set a blistering pace. Getting by some heavy hitters like Danny Lasoski, Ian Madsen, and Justin Henderson, Kaeding found himself in the top-five as the race drew to a close.

Still looking for more, Kaeding would get by Matt Juhl on the race’s final lap to finish in the fourth spot at the checkered flag, capping off a very memorable performance.

“That was a fun race to run,” Kaeding said. “Obviously if we time in better and start further up front I think we have a chance to win, but we made a team decision and it didn’t work out. We fixed the issues and really had an awesome racecar all night long and we are getting better each and every time we hit the track.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Dammer Trucking, Folkens Bros. Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be at the Jackson Speedway on Friday night before spending Saturday and Sunday at the new Badland Speedway in Brandon, SD (formerly Huset’s).
