PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his second start aboard the potent C&M Motorsports No. 7c machine on Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Tony Gualda would again have a nice showing as he set quick time and finished in the seventh spot.
“It was great to get back in the C&M Motorsports car and have another good outing,” Tony Gualda said. “The car was perfect all night long and I really feel like we were better than a seventh place car.”
Gualda would get the night started off great as he sent the standard in qualifications and found himself atop the speed chart after all competitors took a time.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Hollister, CA driver would pick up a fifth place finish aboard the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals No. 7c machine.
As luck would have it, Gualda would pull the eight pill which would line him up in the fourth row of the 25-lap feature event. Just prior to cars pushing out for the feature event, the sky would open up and a brief shower would dampen the speedway.
After a brief delay that included track prep, Gualda and company would go to work on a track that was a little more hooked up after the added moisture. Getting into the seventh spot when the race came to life, Gualda would get in line and make laps as passing was tough on this night.
Following a restart just after the halfway point, Gualda would pick up a few positions but the progress would be negated as the red flew and the field reverted back a lap.
Unable to duplicate his progress when the race resumed, Gualda would hang on to the Top-10 as he crossed under the checkered flag with a seventh place finish.
“I have to thank Cody and Mandi again for allowing me to run for them,” Gualda added. “Our car was really strong, and I’m looking forward to getting back in it this weekend in Petaluma, CA.”
