PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back on the dirt after spending a couple weeks on pavement, Robbie Price had an up and down weekend that saw him battle with the ASCS National Tour as well as take part in the second round of WST Speedweek.

“Elma was really up and down for us, and on Monday night we were good at Cottage Grove early in the night but sort of struggled in the main,” Robbie Price said.

Battling with the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday and Saturday night in Elma, WA, Price would find himself on the pole of his Friday night heat race, which would result in the Cobble Hill, BC driver picking up the win.

Moving into the Fred Brownfield Classic preliminary night feature event, Price would grid the field from the fifth row aboard his Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply entry.

On a track that never widened out, Price admittedly made some mistakes in the feature as he shook off a little rust and would slip back to finish in the 18th spot.

Looking to put a frustrating feature behind me, Price and company were back in action on Saturday night for the FBC finale. Lining up ninth in his heat race on this night, Price would gain two spots to finish in the seventh spot, but would not earn enough points and would be forced into the B Main event.

Lining up in the third row of the semi, Price had a very strong car that saw him move into the fourth spot in the opening laps. Needing run in the top-three to move into the feature, Price would track down the third place only to get up over the cushion in his pursuit, which caused him to miss the transfer spot.

Taking Sunday night off, Price and his team would make the trip to the Cottage Grove Speedway for the second round of Western Sprint Tour Speedweek.

Timing the Wildlight Photography/Speedmart/Shark Racing Engines powered machine in 12th fastest in his qualifying flight, Price would race his way to a win in his heat race.

Moving into the feature event, Price would find himself near the back of the pack on an extremely slick ¼ mile surface. Being one of the first cars to lose a lap to the leaders, the track would soon start to take rubber, and Price would end up finishing in the 19th spot.

“It wasn’t the greatest weekend of racing we have ever had, but I am really looking forward to trying again tonight,” Price added. “It’s good to get back on the dirt, and hopefully we can have a nice showing in Lebanon, OR.”

Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2016 season.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-28, Wins-2, Top-5’s-6, Top 10’s-12

ON TAP: Price will continue on with the WST as he will be in action at the Willamette Speedway tonight.
