PETERSEN MEDIA- His final race weekend in the United States did not quite go as he had hoped, but Jonathan Allard grinded all weekend, and raced his way in to the feature event and ended up 17th in Trophy Cup points.

“It was just a tough weekend all around,” Allard said. “We were okay on Thursday night, and Friday night I made a mistake in our heat race, but we sat 20th in points going in to Saturday night.”

Heat races on Saturday night provided a final point grab for drivers and teams, and a fifth place effort in his heat, dropped Allard a couple of positions, and put him into the night’s B Main, with the top four finishers transferring into the 50-lap feature event.

Lining up fourth in the semi, Allard was on kill, as he had his Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt backed no. 3c machine planted against the wall and digging, as he worked his way in to the race lead, and never looked back as he picked up the win, and moved into the feature event, where he again found himself starting in the second row.

Focusing on getting the race win, Allard ran in the fourth spot during the early goings of the feature event as he battled with Willie Croft and Mason Moore as the trio all jockeyed for position.

Continuing to run in the fourth spot on the extremely slick Thunderbowl surface, Allard’s machine died and came to a stop on the 34th lap, bringing out the caution that ultimately led to the fuel stop, giving his team ample time to find an issue.

Able to restart from the tail end of the field, the rubber had been laid on the speedway, and passing was tough, but the Chico, CA driver was able to pick up a few positions, as he finished the race in the 15th spot, putting himself 17th overall in the Trophy Cup standings.

“We had a really good year overall, and it was a pleasure to win 12 races together in our first year,” Allard said. “It is a little bit of a bummer for our year to end the way it did, but the boys will work hard over the winter, and hopefully next year we can come out strong. I have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for their continued to support, and again cannot thank them enough for this opportunity they have given me.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Platinum Powder Coating, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-62, Wins-12, Top 5’s-29, Top 10’s-41.

ON TAP: Allard will now head to New Zealand, as his schedule down there is set to begin.
