PETERSEN MEDIA- Opening his 2015 season up driving the Tri-C Motorsports No. 3c machine in the Winter Heat Showdown, Willie Croft and company are looking forward to getting to race two more times this week.

“It has been an up and down week, but we are making strides,” Croft said. “I think we have learned a little bit each night, and we are all looking forward to getting back to the track on Friday and Saturday night.”

Kicking 2015 off last Friday night, Croft got off to a nice start as he picked up a third place finish in his heat race, before finishing fifth in his qualifier.

Just narrowly missing out on the feature event with his point total, the Sacramento, CA driver was forced to go through the B Main, where he would finish third, to transfer into the feature event.

Lining up 22nd in the feature event, “Double Down” had a very strong feature event going, as he worked his way forward through a very star studded field.

Making some nice moves, Croft crossed the stripe with a 13th place finish.

Finishing second in his heat race on Saturday night, Croft would then finish second again in his qualifier to start eighth in the feature event.

Croft got off to a great start in the feature, as he held his own in the top-10 on the extremely slick surface.

Following a red at the halfway point, Croft machine slowly went away, and he slipped back a few spots, and ended up with a 15th place finish.

Tuesday night brought the third of five nights of action, and it also brought some bad luck that hampered Croft and the team during the duration of the night.

Getting into the wall in his heat race, Croft was relegated to the back of his qualifier, where he would charge to a sixth place finish.

Lining up in the 10th spot of the B, Croft would get the eighth and final transfer spot into the feature event, and start scratch on the field.

Making eight laps in the feature event, Croft was one of many who would cut and lose a tire, and his night would come to an early end.

“I really  have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for giving me this opportunity to run in Jnary,” Croft said. “I also need to thank Randy, Eric, and Tony for their hard work. We got our car better, and we should be a lot closer come this weekend.”
