PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Chico, CA, Willie Croft was finally able to cross of a bucket list race that he wanted to win. Coming so close to winning the Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial on so many occasions, Croft turned in a dominant performance on Saturday night to win one that has often eluded him.

“It feels great to finally win this race,” Willie Croft said. “It means a lot to myself, my wife, and my family to so to pull it off after being so close in the past feels great. I can’t thank my guys enough for their hard work all year. We have been very fast lately.”

Croft would open things up in fine form as he earned the Carwash Mike Quick Time award amongst the 35 cars checked in for the marquee event.

Lining the Holey Smokes BBQ/ButlerBuilt/Brown and Miller backed No. 29 entry up in the second row of his heat race, ‘Double Down’ would pick up valuable points in his heat race as a second place finish would be good enough to put him in the Dash where a second place finish there placed him on the front row of the 40-lap feature event.

When the green flag was displayed to the field for the Bradway Memorial feature event, Croft would find himself in second as he chased after Mason Moore. With cautions playing a huge role in this race, Croft would look strong out front as he was able to take over command of the race on the third lap as him and Moore battled.

Moore would get back by Croft on a lap four restart, but the Roseville, CA pilot would have none of it as he stormed back by to grab the lead on the race’s fifth lap.

Out front, the only thing that could slow Croft was the onslaught of stoppages. With several restarts needed on this night, Croft would be extremely tough on all of them as he continued to lead the field in his wake.

A late restart would see the battle for second intensify and it would allow Croft to check out and pick up the win in convincing fashion as his advantage would be over five seconds.

Also in action at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Croft would set the tone for the weekend as he timed in second quick on this night before picking up a second place finish in his heat race.

Moving into the redraw, Croft would pull the seven pill which put him in the fourth row for the Bill Brownell Memorial Feature Event.

When the race came to life, Croft would jump up into sixth in the opening laps before slipping back to eighth on the eighth circuit.

Battling in the eighth position most of the race, Croft would come alive in the race’s final 10 circuits. Turning in his best lap on lap 21, Croft would find himself up in the fifth with five to go.

In the closing laps, a hard fought battle would see him finish sixth.

“It was a really fun weekend, and to come home with the Bradway Trophy and check is huge,” Croft added. “Again, I really want to thank everyone that makes this possible.”

Willie Croft Racing would like to thank Holey Smokes BBQ, ButlerBuilt , Brown and Miller, FK Rod Ends, Factory Kahne, Schoenfeld, Simpson Race Products, Smith Precision Products, Kaeding Performance, AL Drivelines, XYZ, Vortex Wings, Amerikote, and GUTS for their support in 2018.
