DeCaires Scores Skagit Speedway Top-10

PETERSEN MEDIA: Back in action on Saturday night at Skagit Speedway, Bubba DeCaires had another solid outing at the famed speedway as he picked up a ninth-place finish in the feature event.

“With how we qualified, I was really happy we were able to pick up a Top-10,” Bubba DeCaires said. “I think car wise we are pretty good, now I just need to focus on cleaning up a few things on my end.”

Timing the Morrison Concrete/Max Sells powered by Red Leaf Realty/High Sierra Industries backed No. 94 in 15thfastest in time trials, DeCaires lined up in the fourth row of his heat race.

Finishing seventh, the Elk Grove, CA driver moved into the feature event where he rolled off the grid from the 13thstarting position. When the green lights flashed on, DeCaires settled into 12th before moving into 11th on the eighth lap.

Continuing to work around the Skagit Speedway, a restart at the halfway point bunched the field back up, and DeCaires was able to make some moves when the action resumed.

Powering his way into the Top-10, DeCaires was in eighth by the 12th lap and looking for more. As the laps clicked off, DeCaires continued to hold down a spot inside the Top-10.

Despite slipping to 9th on the 20th lap, where he went on to finish, DeCaires captured another Top-10 in his rookie season competing at the track.

“The feature went pretty well, I thought,” DeCaires said. “We picked up a couple of spots early in the race, and then a restart around the halfway point allowed me to get a few more spots. I want to thank everyone who continues to support our team and make this season possible.”

DeCaires would like to thank Morrison Concrete, Max Sells powered by Red Leaf Realty, High Sierra Industries, JLC Performance, Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Wion’s Body Shop, and QuickCar Racing Products for their support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-5, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-4

ON TAP: DeCaires gets right back to work this weekend at Skagit Speedway as he will be in action on Saturday night.
