‘Vegas Top-5 Highlights High Limit West Coast Swing for Josh Ford Motorsports

 

PETERSEN MEDIA: With High Limit Racing’s Spring Break swing out west wrapping up over the weekend, Josh Ford Motorsports would like to thank all of their partners as well as drivers Brady Bacon and Ryan Bernal for make the grueling stretch possible.

Meeting up with the series in Las Vegas, NV, the JFM team compete through California and Arizona with the upstart national series making all six feature events including one top-5 during the series’ season opener in Las Vegas, NV with Brady Bacon handling the driving duties.

Timing in third fastest in his flight on Thursday in ‘Vegas before the race was cancelled to weather, Bacon timed in sixth quickest on Saturday night before a second-place finish in his heat race locked him into the feature.

Lining up 10th in the ‘A’, Bacon came to life on the Las Vegas half-mile as he went toe-to-toe with some on the country’s best drivers as he worked his way to a fifth place finish.

“It had been a few years since I have had the chance to run with Jimmy May and the entire JFM team, and it was a lot of fun and we had some really good speed,” Brady Bacon said. “Jimmy and everyone has worked very hard to get some great partners to help elevate their team and I do think they have the speed to contend for wins on both the regional and national level. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity and am hopeful we can do it again later this season.”

Once the scene shifted to California, JFM rolled out a NOS Energy backed No. 73 entry for Bernal to handle the rest of the swing kicking off in the Tulare Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA where the Hollister, CA driver ended up 23rd after being collected in an early incident in the feature event.

Moving further south that weekend, the team checked in at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, CA where Bernal picked up a 13th place finish before heading to Perris Auto Speedway where Bernal turned in his best effort of the week.

Racing from the ‘B’, Bernal lined up 19th in the feature and raced to an 11th place finish in the feature event as a trip to Arizona was on the horizon.

A turbulent opening night in AZ saw Bernal finish 23rd before having a much smoother night on Saturday at Central AZ Raceway.

Timing in eighth fastest in his qualifying flight, Bernal finished fifth in his heat race to lock directly into the feature event.

Lining up 19th on the starting grid following a complete track re work, Bernal battled for a Top-15 much of the night before capping the swing off with an 18th place finish.

“I really want to thank Jimmy May and everyone involved with JFM for the chance to run this last swing with High Limit Racing,’ Ryan Bernal said. “We have good car speed, but when you are a little off with the High Limit guys its tough to bounce back. I think this stretch will for sure make us better when get back into KWS/NARC shows in California.
