The Shark Takes Bite Out of NARC Points Lead; Runs 2nd in Tulare, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA- With time winding down on the 2025 NARC Championship battle, Sean Becker commonly known as ‘The Shark’ took a bite out of DJ Netto’s point lead as his second place finish put him just 7 markers out of the top spot with three races left on the schedule.

“I owe Saturday nigh to Crew Chief, Brad Bumgarner,” Sean Becker said. “It was one of those nights where we were immediately fast as soon as the trailer door went down.”

Heading to Tulare, CA’s Thunderbowl Raceway on Saturday night, Becker kicked the night off by timing the Bjork Construction/Kaeding Performance backed No. 7B entry in second fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Roseville, CA driver picked up a spot as he jumped into third. Holding the position, Becker’s third place finish locked him into the all-important Dash where his runner up finish put him on the front row of the 30-lapper alongside Tanner Holmes.

On the tricky Thunderbowl Raceway surface, Becker settled into second as he chased after Holmes who set a strong pace early.

As they field got into traffic, Becker admittedly made a couple of bad decisions as he slipped back to fifth on the 13th lap.

Using a restart on lap 14 to propel himself back into fourth, Becker again used a restart four laps later to put himself back up in third as he battled with Jesse Schlotfeldt for the runner up position.

Looking like he’d run third on this night, Becker was waiting in the wings and took advantage of a Schlotfeldt issue and grabbed second in the final two laps. Finishing second, Becker close the points gap to just seven markers heading into this weekend’s event at Antioch Speedway.

“I made a couple of bad decisions in traffic, but luckily I had a really good car that allowed me to use restarts to make up some of lost ground and get us back into second,” Sean Becker added.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-36, Wins-0, Top 5’s-9, Top-10’s- 23
